Surf City’s Newly Renovated Pickleball Courts: Rules and Regulations

The Pickleball Craze: Surf City’s Newly Renovated Courts

Pickleball, the beloved sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, continues to gain popularity across the country. And in Surf City, New Jersey, pickleball enthusiasts have something to celebrate with the opening of the newly updated courts.

At a recent borough council meeting, Councilman Joe DeBenedetto shared the exciting news that the pickleball courts are now complete and ready for play. The community has already been taking advantage of the new and improved courts, coming together to enjoy friendly matches and build connections with fellow players.

But it’s not just about playing pickleball at Surf City’s courts – there are rules and regulations in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Players must have a borough beach badge to use the courts during certain hours, and proper attire, including non-marking shoes, is required. Additionally, there are guidelines on the use of shade devices and restrictions on activities like private lessons and bringing pets or bicycles onto the courts.

For those eager to get in on the action, the courts operate on a first-come, first-served basis with open play rotation from 7 a.m. to noon. Games are played to 11 points, with a team needing to win by two points to secure a victory. And to keep things fair and organized, there is a paddle management system in place to ensure that all players have the opportunity to participate.

Overall, the response to the newly renovated pickleball courts in Surf City has been overwhelmingly positive. Players have been enjoying the updated facilities and the chance to engage in friendly competition with their neighbors. So whether you’re a seasoned pickleball pro or a newcomer looking to learn the game, Surf City’s courts are the place to be this summer.

So grab your paddle, put on your non-marking shoes, and head to Surf City for a game of pickleball – you won’t be disappointed!
