Exciting Grand Opening of New Pickleball Courts at McGill Park, Canal Winchester
Are you ready to serve up some fun in Canal Winchester? The city is gearing up for the grand opening of the new pickleball courts at McGill Park on July 18, and it’s going to be a celebration you won’t want to miss!
Located at 6725 Lithopolis-Winchester Road, the pickleball courts are the latest addition to the park, which has been in development since 2021. The park already boasts soccer fields, a nature-themed playground, walking trails, and more, making it a hub for outdoor recreation in the community.
Mayor Joe Steager and Council President Will Bennett will kick off the festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. Following the ceremony, they will take to the court for the first game, setting the stage for many more matches to come. And if you’re one of the first 100 guests to arrive, you’ll receive a custom pickleball as a special giveaway from the city.
The pickleball courts will be open daily from dawn until 10 p.m., with lighting available for evening play. Players are encouraged to bring their own equipment and be mindful of sharing the courts with others. Rental opportunities for special events will also be introduced later this year, so keep an eye out for more ways to enjoy this exciting new addition to McGill Park.
But the fun doesn’t stop there – McGill Park’s development is ongoing, with plans for future phases that include multipurpose fields, a dog park, and an event center. So whether you’re a pickleball pro or just looking to try something new, Canal Winchester’s McGill Park is the place to be this summer.
