Exciting Events for the Last Weekend of July with Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District

Are you looking for some fun and exciting events to attend at the end of July? Look no further than the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District’s special events happening on the last weekend of the month. As part of their celebration of Parks and Recreation Month, the district is hosting two tournaments that you won’t want to miss.

On Saturday, July 27, head over to the city’s courts next to the police station for a round-robin pickleball tournament. Mixed doubles will be organized into three skill levels, with the advanced level playing from 7:30 to 10 a.m., and intermediate and novice levels playing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The entry fee is $60 per team, and the top three teams in each category will receive place medals.

If cornhole is more your style, then mark your calendar for Sunday, July 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. for a cornhole tournament at West Park. There will be three age groups to compete in, and the entry fee is $40 per team. The winning teams will receive a “Shop Local” gift card valued at $200. Make sure to register online at tvrpd.org to secure your spot in the tournament.

But that’s not all! The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District has been offering free events all month long, and there are still more to come. From stargazing and movie nights to disc golf and community walks/runs, there is something for everyone to enjoy. And don’t forget about the free Family Zumba Class and Roller Rink Party happening at the end of the month.
