“Pickleball Camp Inspires Young Players to Serve Up Skills and Fun”

Pickleball may have once been considered a sport for the older crowd, but a recent camp in Salisbury is changing that perception. The camp, hosted by the local YMCA and the city, aimed to introduce area children to the game of pickleball and encourage them to pick up the sport.

With 24 kids initially signing up and the number growing to 29 by the end of the camp, it’s clear that there is a growing interest in pickleball among the younger generation. The camp featured drills, exercises, and a fun tournament on the last day, where campers received medals and enjoyed treats from Kona Ice.

The success of the camp was made possible by the dedication of a dozen local pickleball players who volunteered their time to help teach the young campers. The partnership between the city and the YMCA also played a crucial role in providing a great facility for the camp.

Pickleball, once seen as a sport for seniors, is now attracting players of all ages. The camp aimed to showcase the fun and skill involved in the game, as well as the physical and mental benefits it offers. With its growing popularity, now is the perfect time to find a court near you and give pickleball a try.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, pickleball offers a unique and engaging experience for players of all ages. So grab a paddle, find a partner, and get ready to serve up some fun on the pickleball court!
