Indian Cricket Team Reaches Sri Lanka, Oblige Fans With Selfies At Airport- WATCH

The excitement is palpable as the Indian cricket team has landed in Sri Lanka for their upcoming series, and fans are eagerly awaiting their performance on the field. With a new-look T20I side and some key players missing, the team is gearing up to take on the Lankans in three T20Is and three ODIs starting from July 27.

The BCCI recently uploaded a video showcasing the travelogue of the players from Mumbai to Sri Lanka, giving fans a glimpse into the journey of the team. The players were seen in good spirits, obliging fans with selfies and pictures at the airport upon their arrival.

The team is under the guidance of interim assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and head coach Gautam Gambhir, who are joined by former Dutch international Ryan ten Doeschate as another assistant coach. Sairaj Bahutule has been appointed as the interim bowling coach, with Morne Morkel likely to take over the role in the future.

Suryakumar Yadav has been named the captain of the T20I team, a decision that has raised some eyebrows as Hardik Pandya, who was the deputy captain during the T20 World Cup, has been overlooked. However, Gambhir expressed confidence in the team’s leadership choices and expects Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play as many series as possible despite their limited availability in certain formats.

The anticipation is high as fans eagerly await the performance of the Indian team in Sri Lanka, and with a mix of experienced seniors and talented youngsters, the team is poised to make their mark on the upcoming series. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting matches ahead!
